Weather in Mankato Minnesota is the pits!

Hey there everyone! well, this is taking some getting use too! As you may remember, I am originally from Ohio, so you should know what I am used too weather wize.  well, you should see our forcast. now keep this in mind.  Sunday morning at 10:00 AM we were at 38 degrees, well, by 10:30 we were at 23, and by 3:00 PM, we were at 0 degrees! If that ain’t bad enough? we had a snow storm yesterday that gave us three more inches of snow ontop of what we already had on the ground, now, check this out! keep in mind, that they have us under a winter storm watch starting thursday evening.

 

Today: Mostly sunny, with a high near 12. Wind chill values between -5 and -15. West wind around 6 mph becoming south.

Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 2. Wind chill values between -2 and -12. South wind between 5 and 9 mph.

Thursday: Snow likely, mainly after 3pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 21. Wind chill values between -3 and -13. Southeast wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Thursday Night: Snow. Low around 16. East northeast wind between 10 and 13 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.

Friday: A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly before noon. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 19. North northwest wind between 6 and 14 mph.

Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 5.

Saturday: A 50 percent chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 16.

Saturday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 0.

Now, I know it don’t say anything there about how much snow we could see, so here you go, I will show you the winter storm information

.A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM IS EXPECTED TO DEVELOP OVER EASTERN
COLORADO LATER THURSDAY AFTERNOON AND MOVE NORTHEAST TOWARD
SOUTHERN GREAT LAKES REGION BY MIDDAY FRIDAY. THIS WILL SPREAD
SNOW INTO SOUTHERN MINNESOTA LATER THURSDAY AFTERNOON. AS THE LOW
LIFTS NORTHEAST...SNOW...POSSIBLY HEAVY AT TIMES...WILL DEVELOP
OVER FAR SOUTHERN MINNESOTA THURSDAY NIGHT. A WINTER STORM WATCH
HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR THE AREA OF MINNESOTA LOCATED SOUTH OF A LINE
FROM NEAR ST JAMES TO OWATONNA. SOME CITIES IN THE WATCH INCLUDE...
FAIRMONT...WASECA...MANKATO...AND ALBERT LEA.

SNOW ACCUMULATION COULD EXCEED 6 INCHES WITHIN THE WATCH AREA INTO
FRIDAY MORNING...AND WILL LIKELY IMPACT TRAVEL. CONTINUE TO
MONITOR THE LATEST FORECASTS.
So as you can tell, it will get rather nasty here. and if this isn't bad enough they are saying more snow on Sunday, so as you can see we will most certainly have a white christmas!  Now for those of you that don't know what weather in Ohio is like this time of year, let me show you the forcast for Harden County wair I used to live.
Today: A chance of freezing drizzle before 11am. Cloudy, with a high near 29. West wind between 9 and 13 mph. 

Tonight: Cloudy, with a low around 19. West wind between 4 and 7 mph becoming calm. 

Thursday: Cloudy, with a high near 34. Light east wind. 

Thursday Night: Showers, mainly after 1am. Low around 33. East wind between 6 and 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible. 

Friday: Showers, mainly before 11am. High near 41. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 20 mph becoming north. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible. 

Friday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 23. 

Saturday: Partly sunny, with a high near 33. 

Saturday Night: A chance of snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 22. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
There you go.  now you can see that while I Ohio can get a bit cold this time of year, it is nothing like Mankato Minnesota!
